Josh is the founder of Double Tap Academy. Having been a marksman since childhood, Josh has grown up loving everything about firearms, while also having a deep respect for them. In his youth Josh was enrolled in the Young Marines program from the age of 8 and was active until he was 17. This program taught him discipline and leadership skills while helping to develop him into the man he is today. He later went on to work for the Pawtucket Police Departments Computer Operations Division as a civilian and is now the owner of OptiTech, an IT, Telecommunications, and Credit Card Processing Company. Josh is an experienced NRA Instructor, Range Safety Officer, and an avid lover of the Second Amendment.

Mike comes to us having served in the Marine Corps, then moving on to the Massachusetts Department of Corrections. Within the department of corrections Mike worked his way through many impressive roles throughout his career. Moving from his humble beginnings as a correctional officer, to special investigations, and eventually finding himself in his current capacity as a Drill Instructor training the next generation of officers. His diverse skill set brings an amazing perspective to Double Tap as one of our awesome trainers!

Nancy Ellen Pereira has been immersed in the world of shooting sports practically since birth. Raised at the gun club, she was brought up in an environment that emphasized safety, discipline, and a deep respect for firearms. With decades of hands-on experience, Nancy combines technical expertise with a calm, supportive approach to instruction. As a Senior Instructor at Double Tap Academy, she is passionate about helping shooters of all skill levels build confidence, refine their technique, and train with purpose.

Cody Trustel is a lifelong outdoorsman and experienced firearms instructor with a deep-rooted passion for hunting and shooting sports. He began his journey at a young age, carrying a .410 shotgun through the fields of Iowa, where he hunted upland game, predators, and deer. By the age of 21, Cody developed a unique interest in deer hunting with a 1911 handgun, which led him to pursue competitive shooting in the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA). Cody brings a wealth of practical knowledge and field experience to his students. He is dedicated to helping clients become responsible, confident shooters while developing real-world defensive skills. His goal is to ensure every student is empowered through proper training, safety, and a strong foundation in marksmanship.

Chris is a servant of God, devoted husband, and a father to six children. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Chris served as a USMC Primary Marksmanship Instructor. He is an accomplished shooter with experience in all weapon types. He currently makes his living as the US Director for an international CGP company. Chris is a student of our nation's founders and a defender of the Second Amendment.

Jon comes to Double Tap Academy with 15 years of military service. He served 6 years in the Navy, 3 of which was on the ship's quick reaction force (swat team), 9 years in the army, and 3 years as the non-commissioned officer in charge of the Advanced Trauma Life Support section for a forward resuscitative surgical detachment. He is an Army Combat life saver instructor. His education includes: NREMT, army combat medic program, Ryder Trauma Center courses, and the army trauma training Detachment. We are lucky to have him on our team!
